You should see 'diagnostic boot selected' at the Dell splash screen and you can let go of the key at this point. If the diagnostic flags up any problems then you obviously need to raise this with Dell (assuming that your laptop is still within warranty). If memory serves me well, you need to power down the laptop, hold the Fn key and power it up again. If that still fails, I believe Dell laptops have a hardware diagnostic tool that can be started during POST. If you've removed the drive and deleted the partitions, there's a good chance that the recovery partition has gone as well.I'd suggest you format the hard drive and run the recovery disc again.
And I didn't notice it was even turned off.)I fell back asleep, and then when I woke up I was greeted by a message along the lines of 'Unauthorized Windows Changes.' OEM laptops usually have a recovery partition on the hard drive that allows you to rebuild the laptop to its factory default setting. I left my computer on overnight and when I woke up I turned on my computer (I was half-asleep, and it was eight A.M.
Alright, so recently I installed eight windows updates at night.I went to bed, and apparently that was a bad idea.
